Resources for disabled students

All resources available to non-disabled students (listed below) plus:
Formal accommodations (University obligation); eligible for alternative-testing (e.g., extra time, quiet room, breaks, alternative format or substitutions, make-up exams listed in a formal, written plan, VISA).

Resources for non-disabled students

  • Study and test-preparation skills development (e.g. GUTS, 263-5666)
  • Tutors (GUTS, TRIO for qualified students, 265-5106)
  • Faculty and TA assistance
  • Stress management
  • Informal test accommodations (faculty approval required), e.g.: extra time, quiet room, breaks, alternative format, make-up exam

Student Resources

  • The Writing Center is staffed by professional writing instructors and advanced doctoral students in English literature and composition studies. All instructors in the Writing Center are highly trained, expert readers and are qualified to offer help with all writing in all disciplines and at all levels.
  • Learning Support Services (LSS) offers many instructional services.
  • Center for Academic Excellence provides an enriching, inclusive community and academic support for L&S students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education, including first-generation and low-income students, and students of color. CAE offers a variety of engagement opportunities, including high-touch advising, tutoring programs, health and wellness events, social events, graduate school preparation, and connections with high impact life changing opportunities.
