Sept. 17, Harry Brighouse

Strengthening Educational Outcomes

Watch the lecture here.

The Wisconsin Idea demands that the activities of the University redound to the benefit of the public. Teaching, or the promotion of knowledge, represents a key activity of the institution. Three questions arise. What benefits is the public presumed to derive from teaching? What conditions affect the achievement of those benefits? What warrants attention, if the University is to meet the expectations for teaching and learning associated with the Wisconsin Idea?
