Jenn Sims

Jennifer Patrice Sims is a sociologist who specializes in social psychology, race/ethnicity, and gender and sexuality. Her academic research examines racial perception and mixed race experience and identity; and her public sociological essays address racism and colorism in the media. Her current research project examines the influence of hair style on racial perception. Dr. Sims completed her PhD in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. She is presently an Adjunct Visting Professor at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and will be an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama-Huntsville beginning in Fall 2017.
