Ph.D. Candidate in Economics

Jonathan E. Becker

About

I’m an Industrial Organization economist studying the US residential mortgage market. My research predominantly focuses on information asymmetries between buyers and sellers in whole loan trades. My recent work deploys a wide range of econometric and machine learning methods to flexibly model mortgage performance, originators’ beliefs, and investors’ pricing models. In addition to Industrial Organization and Real Estate Finance, I have interests in the economics of crime and the secondary market for firearms.
