I am a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Manitoba. In the spring of 2018 I will join the Department of Sociology at Western University as an Assistant Professor. I received my PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in July 2016.

My research examines the empirical effects of a basic income experiment that took place in a small Manitoba town in the 1970s. This work has been funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and the University of Wisconsin’s Institute for Research on Poverty. My research interests include work, poverty, social policy, political economy, economic sociology, and social theory.
