O1HEALTH  Health Module

OVERVIEW

The 2021 round of WLS data collection featured an abbreviated health section
with items picked from the 2011 in-person interview and mail questionnaires.
Collected information includes self-rated general health, current health
limitations and information about the participant's various health conditions.
The module features one addition: the occurance, timing and severity of
periodontitis.

Note: If hearing aid was not in place, interviewer prompted the participant to retrieve it. When that was impossible,
interviewer stressed that it is very important for the participant to be able to hear clearly and offered to reschedule
the interview. If the participant elected to continue, interviewers were instructed to pay careful attention and
reschedule if they thought the participant had trouble hearing.
