Mail: Marriage

Graduate Mail: Marriage Module

OVERVIEW

This module almost exactly replicates the Marriage section of the 2004 mail
survey, with a slight shift in focus and one addition. Where the 2004
questionnaire only asked about the participant's relationship with their
spouse, the 2011 version expands its coverage to also include participants who
live with partners in marriage-like relationships. Moreover, an item about the
participant's perception of their spouse or partner's health has been added
from the 2004 mail survey's Health section. Overall the mail survey explores
such topics as intimacy, the division of household labor, the participant's
perceptions of their relationship's quality, their level of satisfaction with
it, sexual pleasure and frequency, and potential reasons for decreases in
sexual activity, if applicable.

For detailed biographical information on the participant's spouse or partner,
see also the CAPI administered Marriage, Cohabiting, & Dating Module.
