Subject: fluency coding files From: "Jeremy Freese" Date: Thu, 25 Aug 2005 22:19:51 -0500 To: , "Joe Savard" , "Linda Jordan" , "'Tess Hauser'" I have put a .zip file containing the files that I have written for use coding the fluency variables in the cognition directory on the hauserproj drive. (My presumption is that this is not actually desired destination for the file, but that y'all will know where you want to put it.) The .do and .xls files are needed by the program. I don't think the others are, but could be useful for understanding the inputs and outputs and so are included. The fluency coding programs do multiple things, namely: (1) score the fluency variables, (2) write the spreadsheets for cases that need to be checked by a supervisor, and (3) generate and then incorporate spreadsheets that impose consistency for certain decisions by the cognition coders. The program "fluency_variables.do" is the one that scores the fluency variables. As with the similarities programs, my hope is that Jeremy I. or someone else with appropriate Stata skills would be able to adapt the programs to run from WLS machines by WLS personnel rather from me on my machine. I can consult regarding how any parts of the program work to accomplish this end. --Jeremy
