Memo # 67 Date : April 26, 1990 Subject: The purpose of this memo is to describe a general selection of variables for WLS data. The task contains four parts: I. A list of basic variables II. A list of IQ, social background, psychological, and achievement variables with multiple measurement for 1975 respondent III.A list of IQ, social background, psychological, and achievement variables without multiple measurement for 1975 respondent IV. A list of variables for 1977 siblings with multiple measurement. That is, for carrying out an analysis with multiple measurement, one should use variables listed in part I and II, and part I and III for one without multiple measurement. In addition, one should include variables listed in part IV for an analysis of 1977 siblings. To make an extract of these variables, use XTRACT program and a built-up dictionary, udisk11:[231.com]swl22.dct, or udisk21:[231006.wls]swl22.dct.
