About Me
I have just completed my dissertation in sociology as of August 2008. I am currently working as a Visiting Assistant Professor at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. My area of interests are sociology of economic change, demography, statistics, and international health. I have a minor in African Studies and have worked in the West African countries of Burkina Faso and Cameroon. My research focuses on the construction of the agricultural rules of the WTO that was established in 1993. Through the examination of trade regulations, I look at state corporate relations vis a vis primary commodities and agricultural trade. My research adds to the literature on global restructuring and inequality by examining the ways in which corporations shape regulatory regimes in order to maintain global market shares. I also have interests in international demography and statistics, and love to teach statistical programming and statistics. I have a strong commitment to community service and to helping my students understand and apply sociological concepts to local, national, and global communities.

The paper below is one portion of my dissertation research, contrasting Cargill and Archer Daniels Midland in their positions vis a vis export strategies in the late 1980s.
Paper presented at Rural Sociological Meetings, August 2005
I have also included a statistical paper evaluting software. This indicates some of my expertise in statistics.
