About me:

I grew up in Colorado and spent my youth exploring the outdoors rafting rivers, hiking mountain trails and downhill skiing with my family and friends. On family trips across the American West, I developed a passion for learning about the history of places and indigenous cultures. Since moving to Madison, WI, for graduate school, I have been able to continue to pursue my love for outdoor activities, while having the opportunity to learn about the importance of local food systems. This has led me to volunteer weekly at the Madison Farmer's Market every autumn. During my research trips to Chile and Argentina, I was fortunate to explore a bit of the countryside with Mapuche friends, sample various wines and the regional gastronomical specialties and visit a few of the national parks on both sides of the Andes.
