College Residence and Academic Performance: Who Benefits from Living on Campus?

This study finds that, for most students, the type of residence during college does not seem to have a significant effect on first year academic performance. However, among black students and those attending Liberal Arts institutions, those who live on campus have higher GPAs than similar students who live off campus with family.
