Introduction to analyzing controversial issues in ethnic/racial politics. Theoretical overview & examples around college admissions. PDF file of lecture slides.

Education issues slides Some statistics on diversity at UW : UW Freshmen are 87.3% White, Not Hispanic (vs. 86.8% in Wisc as a whole). Other groups: Latino 3.1% (vs 3.8%), Black 2.8% (vs 6.1%), Asian 6.1% (vs 2.2%), AmerInd .7% (vs 1.2%) "viewbooks" "where would you feel comfortable?

Other materials that may be helpful: 1. Theoretical notes prepared by a former TA(handed out in section) and also2. Old Controversial Issue notes Detailed comments on debate topics. Outline format.
