PhD Candidate in Sociology

About Me
I am a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research interests include demography, family sociology, quantitative methods, comparative cross-national research (Europe, USA).
I am currently deeply engaged (click) in research in support of my dissertation "Why Do? The meaning of marriage in the Nordic countries."
Beyond my passion for the family trends of the United States and Northern Europe, I am an avid knitter, live-music aficionado, cyclist, ultimate frisbee player and wearer of large clogs. I fancy myself an amateur chef and I plan to someday author a cookbook detailing the history and (seemingly endless) varieties of the Dutch dish "stamppot."
