I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology and affiliate with the Center for Demography and Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research focuses on migration, both global and local, as a key feature of social organization and investigates the dynamics of and linkages between migration, population composition and change, and ethnic and racial integration and inequality.

  • I am working on my dissertation, "The temporal dynamics of international migration and linkages to anti-foreigner sentiment," directed by Theodore Gerber, Katherine Curtis and Jenna Nobles.
  • The paper, "Migration systems in Europe: Evidence from harmonized flow data," with Keuntae Kim and James Raymer is forthcoming in Demography.
  • The paper, "The temporal dynamics of international migration in Europe: Recent trends," with James Raymer is forthcoming in Demographic Research.
  • The paper, "Compositional and temporal dynamics of international migration in the EU/EFTA: 2002-2007," is currently under peer review.
  • I am also an instructor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Madison Area Technical College (MATC), and have taught both Social Problems and Race, Class and Gender.
