JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS

*  Call for papers for Conference on International Macro-Finance, April 24-25, 2008.

(papers to be considered for special issue of JIE)

AIMS AND SCOPE

The Journal of International Economics is intended to serve as the primary outlet for theoretical
and empirical research in all areas of international economics. These include, but are not
limited to the following: trade patterns, commercial policy; international institutions; exchange
rates; open economy macroeconomics; international finance; international factor mobility. The
Journal especially encourages the submission of articles which are empirical in nature, or deal
with issues of open economy macroeconomics and international finance.

Theoretical work submitted to the Journal should be original in its motivation or modeling
structure. Empirical analysis should be based on a theoretical framework, and should be capable
of replication. It is expected that all materials required for replication (including computer
programs and data sets) should be available upon request to the authors.

Beginning January 1, 2007, all submissions to JIE must be made electronically through this website:

Beginning September 15, 2008, the Journal of International Economics will adopt a new policy for expedited review.  The editors or co-editors may reject a manuscript without obtaining a referee report from an outside reviewer if the paper is determined to be clearly unpublishable in the JIE.  The submission fee will not be returned for papers that receive expedited review.

There is a 35-page limit on accepted manuscripts (which includes tables, figures, references, footnotes, appendix, etc.)

In keeping with the spirit of open scientific inquiry, the JIE would like authors of accepted empirical papers to make their data available to other researchers. The best way to do this is on a Website where the data can be downloaded. If that is not possible, please be prepared to respond to requests for data.
