This data module contains one record for each respondent who named a college last attended in response to 1964 questionnaire; or who in response to 1975 questionnaire reported a valid college for either receiving a BA or college last attended. There are 4033 records in this module. Those who reported college attendance, but refused to name the school are not included in this data module. College characteristics are not available for all colleges. If the data is not available, it is coded 9's. These college characteristics were originally assigned to colleges attended by male WLS respondents in 1979 by Hazel Symonette for data used in her thesis. Characteristics for college codes were added to female WLS respondents in 1997 by using the characteristics for males who attended the same college. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Column Variable Variable Description Frequencies Name Men Women Value Label -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-6 IDPUB Respondent's identification number.
