SAS Brief Introduction

A Brief Introduction to SAS

This lesson is intended for those who have some background with statistical software, but now find they need to dig in with SAS.

We will go through the basic features of the SAS Display Manager interface (the "classic" SAS user interface), handling SAS files, saving results in a variety of formats, writing commands in the SAS programming language, and how to work with the Help files.

As examples along the way, we will look at examples of fundamental statistical commands such as proc freq, proc means, proc ttest, proc reg, as well as some graphics.

Considering the size and scope of the SAS language, this introduction will necessarily be cursory, but should give you a foundation for continuing on your own.
