Doing Qualitative Research with NVIVO 10

This workshop has sessions on multiple days. You should plan to attend all the sessions.

In this series of three work sessions, participants will explore and utilize the main functions of the qualitative data analysis software NVIVO. The goal of the series is to stimulate engaging interactions with this professional research tool, and to give participants the space to use & explore the software in a small practice project.

Session 1: Basic functionality of qualitative data analysis software - preparing, importing & organizing textual data - annotation of textual data

Session 2: Coding functions - simple searches - pens, word processors & QDA software: exploring and testing hybrid workflows

Session 3: Using categories & variables - complex searches - assessing the use & usefulness of QDA software for your research project - Q&A

Prior knowledge of NVIVO is not necessary. Participants may bring their own laptops - if they have NVIVO already installed and running on their machines. The number of participants is limited to 15.
