As of February 2013, Stata can be purchased online and then downloaded. This makes GradPlan as we know it obsolete, though you will still receive GradPlan pricing if you tell them you're affiliated with UW-Madison. We're still working out all the implications of this change.
SSCC has an arrangement with Stata Corporation called GradPlan. With GradPlan we keep a stock of Stata software and manuals on hand. When you place an order through Stata, they fax us the order information, and you can pick up your materials from Chithra Kamath in 4226 Social Science. This means you can get your materials in about 24 hours after placing your order, and you pay a special low price.
Place your order by calling Stata Corporation at 800-782-8272 and mention that you are ordering through GradPlan, or by visiting their GradPlan web page. Stata will tell you when your order will be processed and available to be picked up. Please note that we cannot distribute materials until Stata has processed the order and sent us a fax listing what we should give you. Also, if you will be sending someone to pick up your order for you, please email Chithra (ckamath@ssc.wisc.edu) to let her know it is okay to give them your software, or send a signed note with them.
Upgrades are not handled through GradPlan; Stata will ship them to you directly.
