Sociology Majors E-mail List

The Sociology undergraduate advisor, Ellen Jacobson, has a listserv (an email distribution list) for sending out important information and announcements to sociology majors. Anyone interested in subscribing to this list is welcome to do so. Posting to the list, however, is restricted to departmental staff.

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE E-MAIL NEWSLETTER FOR SOCIOLOGY MAJORS:

  1. Open a new message screen in your e-mail program.
  2. On the "To:" line of the mail header, type listar@ssc.wisc.edu
  3. In the "Subject:" line type subscribe soc_majors
  4. Leave the body of the message blank. Remove any signatures or default attachments.
  5. Send the message.

You will then be sent a message acknowledging your request. Soc Majors is an open list; you will be subscribed immediately. If later you wish to un-subscribe from the list, substitute the command unsubscribe for the command subscribe in step three above.

Special reminders: You must send this message from the account from which you expect to read the messages. You must use no "Signature". For Eudora users: The window where your signature is named should have the word <none>.
