Computing Facilities

Faculty, students, and staff have access to computer facilities operated by the Social Science Computing Cooperative (SSCC) which is housed in the Social Science Building. The Social Science Computing Cooperative provides computing services for several departments and research agencies in the social sciences. The SSCC provides hardware, software, and computer help tailored specifically to the needs of social science researchers and those who work with them, giving you access to a level of service and support that is unavailable to much of the campus community. Please visit the SSCC website for detailed information on available services.

Also located in the Social Sciences Building is the Data and Computation Center (DACC) which provides graduate students with consultation on computer programs, a library of standard computer programs, access to data archives at Berkeley, Michigan, MIT, Chicago, the Roper Institute for Public Opinion and similar locations, as well as access to a large number of sets of machine-readable data in the Social Science Building.
