The Institute was created in 1960 and provides research support to the Faculty in the
Economics Department. SSRI provides both logistical and administrative support
for research related activities such as the organization of conferences, the
submission of research grants to funding agencies, the SSRI
Working Paper Series and the Workshop
(lecture) Series. SSRI's Publications
List consists of the working paper abstracts and reprints produced each
year by the faculty. The SSRI Library contains economic working
papers authored by UW faculty as well as working papers from institutions located
all over the world. The Institute is supported mainly by contributions from
the College of Letters and Sciences and
a sub-budget of the Economics Department at the University
of Wisconsin - Madison.
