Current Awareness in Aging Research E-Clippings No. 3000–January 25, 2012

======================================================================

Note: Today marks the 3,000th issue of CAAR E-Clippings. It began in 1999 as an add-on to the main weekly CAAR service. We are very grateful to all of our subscribers and hope you continue to find the service useful. We would like to thank our sponsor, the National Institutes of Health, and our institutions, the Center for Demography of Health and Aging and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for their continuing support. We would also like to thank CDHA’s founding Director, Professor Robert Hauser, who, 12 years ago, asked for “a Scout Report for aging,” and approved a librarian’s idea for an add-on. He has provided nothing but encouragement and support for this effort.

3,000 issues are a lot. We estimate that we have distributed more than 60,000 story links–not including inevitable duplicates 🙂 –, and we’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I’d be remiss if I didn’t also thank my co-editor, Charlie Fiss. Without him, this service would be less than half of what it is. If you’ve had a small fraction of the enjoyment reading these that we’ve had producing them, we consider the enterprise a great success. See you tomorrow with No. 3,001.
