Beaver Dam Offspring Study (BOSS)

bdos_logo_red_blue1

“The purpose of the Beaver Dam Offspring Study is to determine how common age-related hearing loss, eye disease, and other conditions are in persons whose parents participated in the Beaver Dam Eye Study and Epidemiology of Hearing Loss Study. The Beaver Dam Offspring Study will allow scientists to evaluate genetic and environmental risk factors for sensory impairments (hearing, vision, sense of smell) and aspects of cardiovascular health. The study will also determine how age-related sensory impairments differ between people born before and after World War II. This information will be used to help predict future health care needs in the United States.”
