law; It examines the role of the law in promoting and/or alleviating

- Mid-Atlantic Equity Consortium
Site emphasizes educational equity by race & gender. Includes a
lot of statistics as well as reports and other kinds of resources.
- Americans.net A gateway site
which comes up with American flags and war information, but if you page
down, lists a large number of affiliated sites, including sites dedicated
to the major ethnic groups in the US, along with sites dedicated to
various topics in US history and culture.
- World Languages
data base at UCLA Profiles of world languages, including maps, dialects,
etc.
- White
Privilege study resources. List maintained at Greenfield Community
College which includes links to anti-racist organizations and a few

- Euroamerican.Org is a multiracial
anti-racist site focusing on European American - White culture. "Beyond

- Swagga.com The Afrocentric Experience
is a portal site with a great deal of information on African, Afro-Caribbean
and African American history, politics, issues, personalities, literature,
music, culture.
- Black Voices a black gateway
site. Includes news and discussion sections.
- The MarcusGarveyBBS is a discussion/forum
site philosophically committed to Garvey's ideals.
- UNIA-ACL (United Negro Improvement
Association - African Communities League) web site, claims to be
the continuity of the UNIA founded by Garvey. Site includes statement
of principles, etc. The current president is Marcus Garvey's son.

International Congress This is a Rastafarian religious web site

Museum of Racist Memorabilia. This site, maintained by Ferris State
University in Michigan, contains hundreds of images of the different
stereotypes of Black people and of images of segregation along with
several dozen essays on the history of racism and discrimination in
the US, including essays on the origins of "Jim Crow."
- BrotherMalcolm.Net a
site devoted to Malcolm X.
- Tulsa Riot
of 1921 Whites in Tulsa attacked and burned the entire Black area
of Tulsa to the ground. This site documents the riot in detail, including
the background and then describing exactly what happened; it includes
a large number of photographs of the White mobs gathering and the buildings
burning. The organization's main
site is devoted to getting reparations for the survivors; it includes
interviews with survivors, copies of the official report on the incident,
and more.
- Deaths in the 1992 LA Riot. My

- Kwanzaa.
- The "official"
Kwanzaa site maintained by Maulana Karenga, the man who invented
of Kwanzaa in 1966 as an African American cultural celebration.
The site includes a lot of information including FAQs, detailed
explanations of origins and meanings, etc.

site that has a good short summary of the history & manner of

- eBlack Studies An archive of classic articles in Black Studies and the Black movement
American Indian / Native American
- Information on the Indian Trust
lands lawsuit about the billions of dollars owed to American Indians
for Indian Trust lands that have been mismanaged by the US government
- Native Languages of the
Americas. This extensive and well-organized site is promoting American
languages. It contains links to cultural information about many groups,
as well as containing extensive language information about many indigenous
American languages.
- Black Native American Association.
For persons of mixed African and Native American ancestry. Long
list of links to with an emphasis on genealogical sites, as well as
sites specifically about Black Indians.
- Leonard Peltier case: 1) FBI
page on Peltier case. 2) FBI statement in 2009 opposing Peltier's release on parole 3) a pro-Leonard
Peltier site that includes links to Incident at Oglala, a film about the case. 4) another pro-Peltier site (these appear to be dueling sites) 5) The Wikipedia entry 6) Another
overview with lots of information, news articles, links.
- A compilation of Native American
resources. The person who compiled them died in 1997 so the
site is not current, but is being maintained on a server because many
people used it.
- "The People's Path"
a Native American site. Cherokee emphasis but lots of links, kept
current.
- National Congress of American Indians.
Special sections on issues such as mascots, education, environment,
etc. Emphasis on legal documents.

Indian Development. Major research result is importance of

- Teacheroz a links site last updated in 2008 with an extensive list of primary historical documents and an emphasis on historical topics, art, and specific tribes.
- Univeristy of Washington Libraries Native American History site Links to vetted history sites with an emphasis on tribal and regional histories.
- American Indian Site maintained by Prof Troy Johnson of the American Indian Studies program at California State University Long Beach. The site is listed as a Brittanica reference site and a selection of the Internet Scout Project. Includes history links, tribal links, American Indian Colleges, and links to sites about specific issues.
- Course site for 2006 course at Evergreen State College on Anti-Indian Movements taught by Kristina Ackley and Zoltan Gorssman. Site includes excellent lecture notes and other materials on Native American sovereignty and anti-sovereignty movements.
- Blue Corn Comics page on media images with lots of images and articles about Native American portrayals in the media. The web site's main purpose is to advertise a comic book called Peace Party featuring Native Americans. It also contains extensive links and discussions and images of Native people, including a "stereotype of the month" contest.

Angeles. Philip J. Ethington History Department, University of Southern
California A fascinating visual site showing population growth,
images of the city and much more..
- "Zoot
Suit Riots." A PBS site with detailed accounts of the riots,
copies of newspaper coverage, images of the clothing, music, social
life, politics of the time. In Los Angeles in 1943: for 10 days Anglo
sailors hunted and beat Mexican Americans wearing "zoot suits"
(a style of the time); brawling ensued as Mexican Americans fought back.
- National Council of La Raza is
the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization
in the United States, founded in 1968. To achieve its mission, NCLR
conducts applied research, policy analysis, and advocacy, providing
a Latino perspective in five key areas – assets/investments, civil
rights/immigration, education, employment and economic status, and health.
NCLR serves all Hispanic subgroups in all regions of the country and
has operations in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix,

time about reconstruction, etc.

- OpenCRS.com is a web site devoted
to creating public access to Congressional Research Reports which are
public documents that are not generally distributed to the public. These
are excellent background briefing sheets on issues relevant to proposed
Congressional legislations. The search engine on the site is not good;
if you are looking for documents on a specific topic, it will work better
to use a search engine such as google with boolean search capacities
and restrict the domain to opencrs.com.
