About Me

I am a professor of sociology at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I have three main areas of research: 1) Media coverage of protests and demonstrations, 2) Diffusion models of collective action, 3) Racial disparities in imprisonment and arrests, with a special emphasis on Wisconsin.. I teach courses in Ethnic Movements in the US, social movements, and research methods. I am also the Director of Graduate Studies for the department of sociology.
